A stone village house, fully restored, in the heart of medieval Coux. Cobbled lanes, vaulted passages beneath a stone arch, old houses folded into one another, and the Ouvèze valley below. You get around the village on foot, well away from the traffic.

Air conditioning in every room. Summer nights stay cool even through a heatwave, which is rarer than you'd think in an Ardèche stone house.

Downstairs: an industrial-style kitchen with exposed stone, a living room with a fireplace, a separate WC, and a private terrace. Upstairs, under the eaves: two bedrooms, a full bathroom with both bath and shower, and a bright sitting area. Sleeps up to 5.

Self check-in with a key safe, whenever suits you. Bed linen and towels provided, washer, dryer, fibre wifi, and a proper desk to work from.

For cyclists: a step-free lock-up for storing bikes securely. The Dolce Via and the Payre greenway are both within easy reach.

Privas 5 minutes away, supermarket 6 minutes, Mirmande 24 km, the Ardèche gorges an hour.

Worth knowing: the upper floor is reached by two flights of old stone steps, so the house isn't suitable for anyone with limited mobility. Parking is free on the street, though there's no dedicated space.
